Our First Year.

Marriage.
It's God's Idea

Sooooo, I wanted to share a special part of my heart with all of you! Our 1 year anniversary was this past August 14th & my hubby made me a beautiful video. I wanted to share it with all of you. So get ready to laugh & cry. It's a  sneak peek of our everyday amazing, fun life. lol :)

To all of my amazing single people: God hasn't forgotten about you. "...There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven"- Ecclesiastes 3:1. So be patient, enjoy GOD & be married to Him (Isaiah 54). Don't you dare settle for one second. You'll come across some Ishmael's before you meet Issac. Keep your eyes on Jesus. If you aren't submitting to Jesus NOW ladies, what makes you think you will all the sudden submit while married? Practice that. Men, ladies need to SEE that you are submitted to Jesus now. How is she supposed to follow someone that doesn't know where he's going or who he is following? Oh yeah. And keep them legs together. Both of you are worth the wait. So, yes.. no sex until a ring & a license. Jus sayin'

To all of my married people: Don't quit. Hang in there.. after you get past a few big fights, you'll learn each other & what works for you. Ladies, submit to your husbands. The leadership role the man carries is HUGE & it's not always easy. Your hubby has to deal with the world all day.. the last thing he wants to do is come home to a nagging wife. The greatest gift a wife can give her husband is contentment. To my brothers--Love your ladies like Christ loves to church. For CHRIST gave His life for the church. So don't be selfish. If your wife likes certain things..make it your business to do it out of your love for her until your feelings catch up.

Enjoy.

I love you hubby. To the most amazing man that I've ever met in my entire life. I look forward to the next 70 years with you.

Got People Bondage?

Sooo, this area is heavy on my heart because PEOPLE  will always have something to say about EVERYTHING  you do. If you are listening to fifty different opinions & trying to please them, you are like James 1:6--because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. In verse 5 it clearly states that if you LACK wisdom (you don't know what to do) ask GOD who gives it to all men LIBERALLY. So instead of running to your cell phone to call someone everytime you have an issue, start RUNNING to God. Am I saying that it's wrong to ask advice from godly counsel? No! Of course not--but don't DEPEND on them, depend on GOD. Humans are as frail as breath--don't place your trust in them (Isaiah 2:22) He will surround you with believers and great encourager's. So whoever is giving you advice & encouraging you should ALWAYS point you to Christ. I am grateful for those that encourage me--they give me that extra "boost" I need to PRESS forwad. But at the end of the day, they don't replace the beautiful COUNSELOR that lives on the inside of you--and His name is the Holy Spirit.

If you constantly listen to what everyone else has to say, it will clutter out what God is telling you to do. And if you don't know what God wants you to do--then REST. Stop all of that "trying to make it happen" --Galatians 3:3 says..are you so foolish?! You started in the Spirit & now you are trying to perfect everything in the FLESH.

I remember a season in my life where NOTHING was working out. Doors kept slamming in my life. I couldn't find a job, I couldn't rent out this condo, relationships where going sour, my finances weren't working out.. I felt so far away from God. Throughout this WHOLE time, God was dealing with me about breaking off a relationship that I was in. It was hard for me because I was used to placing my trust & value in relationships. I didn't want to break up with my boyfriend! I didn't want be LONELY. I didn't want to deal with those emotions. But I knew that this unhealthy, ungodly relationship was moving me further.. and further away from my fellowship with God. That relationship didn't PUSH me towards God.. it pushed me AWAY from Him. I would BEG God for my purpose.. "SHOW ME LORD" Show me LORD! Open doors Lord! "He said in a sweet voice".... My beautiful child..how do you expect me to give you more instructions when you didn't obey me with the first instructions?" So, I'm thinking--ok, I'm going to obey God & go on a fast from this relationship for a few weeks. Fail. Fail. Fail. That was me "still trying to make it happen in the flesh" (Gal 3:3).. Then, I started to worry--WHAT would people think of me if I broke this off? I would be a failure in their eyes! Crazy, right? I sure think so.

Then, I got free.. I cut off the relationship for real.. from the root. I learned that whenever I was lonely or bored that it was God calling me to a closer relationship with Him..I got real free from people. How do you get free from them? Well.. you get HIT up with tests & opportunities to GET into people bondage. I started passing those tests!!! I started REALLY depending on GOD for every PART of my life. HE became my life, He wasn't my Sunday morning, He became my every breath. I started CARING less what people thought of me because they didn't DIE for my sins. MY worth & value comes from the ONE who died for me & now sits next to God the Father. I heard that so many times in church.. but this time.. it became REAL to me & I started to believe it. People started CRAZY rumors about me. Horrible rumors.. at CHURCH... crazy, right? Not, in the club or in the world, but at church. But broken people come to church to get restored by Jesus Christ, so don't place your trust in them or leaders either. They aren't perfect. They make mistakes--so forgive them & move on already. God has a beautiful plan for your life. Can He trust you??! Or will He place you somewhere & you let what everyone has to say about YOU matter? It can't matter. You cannot afford it. I know this about me & my husband's life. God has a call on our life in MINISTRY. It's a very expensive call that has cost us SO much (really nothing.. compared to the cross). So do I expect people to say horrible things, talk about us, call us crazy? Well.. if they didn't--I'd question my salvation. Because if I really belong to Christ, I won't look like the world. .. for "..if the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first..(John 15:18) And sadly, that includes the church. Many people are sitting in church every Sunday don't really belong to Christ. Their life looks nothing like Him, nor do they even care. They're satisfied with their church attendence & ushering as a ticket to heaven.

So what should you do if people talk about you & hate you?! FORGIVE them (you need the same forgiveness from God, no?) & PRAY for them!! But really pray for them. Mean it with all of your heart. Don't you dare join their negativity--you cannot afford it. Hate multiples hate. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that.

Jesus loves you madly,
Heather

My FAVORITE Vitamins!

Overwhelmed by what Vitamins to take?! We ALL are!! I've tried.. almost ALL of them over the years and I've come up with a few of my favorites!!

I may be a stalker when it comes to vitamins! When I first met with my doctor, I pulled out a bag of 10 different vitamins I take daily--and he gave me a prescription for a multivitamin--stating that I'm doing wayy to much & all of my B vitamin intake can be harmful to my liver over time. However, I am pretty obsessed when it comes to making sure my body has everything it needs + I want my hair to GROW! lol
(before you read this, make sure you check with your doctor, nutritionist, or whoever else to MAKE sure that you are getting everything you need. I am NOT an "expert" but I am someone who spends their free time studying this lol) This is for the basic, healthy 29 year old.
Soo, let's check out some of my fav's:

1. Multivitamin
Yes, you need one but not just any "vitamins". Make it your business to take one daily. But take a NATURAL vitamin, NOT a synthetic. I once heard that it's better to starve yourself then take a commercial synthetic vitamin.
Here's some facts!
  • The majority of commercial vitamin supplements are made up of synthetic vitamins
  • Synthetic vitamins do not perform the same functions in your body as vitamins found naturally in whole food
  • Many synthetic vitamins deplete your body of other nutrients and tax your kidneys before being excreted through your urine

How do you know if the vitamins on your kitchen counter are from whole foods or if they are synthetic?
If the list of ingredients includes an actual vitamin like Vitamin C” rather than an actual food that contains natural vitamin C like “acerola cherry powder”, you can bet that it is a synthetic vitamin. A good example of "junk" nutritional supplements is B vitamins. Most people do not know that most B vitamins are made from petrochemicals! For your best health, take a whole-nutrient B vitamin and avoid synthetics. Synthetics will be listed on the label as follows: Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B5 (calcium pantothenate).

Are all synthetic vitamins and minerals bad?
YES! There are many negative health impacts from synthetic ingredients in vitamins & supplments. To make this easier-- the human body has evolved for MILLIONS of years to digest foods found in nature (plants, fruits). Most of the commercial synthetic produced vitamins are CHEMICAL compounds that can't be found in nature. Your body doesn't recognnize those fake ingredients and your body knows the difference between real & fake & always perfers the real thing!

So when you are on a search for a great multivitamin, MAKE sure you ask if the product is synthetic of not. Remember, synthetic is pretty much a "fake" vitamin. Pharmacies, vitamin stores, etc have to make their money somehow. So, go to all natural store like Whole Foods or something along those lines. Be sure to have your list of questions. YES, you are going to spend more, but you would spend the same amount on dinner, some shirt or something else. Take great care of your body.
**Also, I recommend that you take it at night before you go to sleep! Usually, it's easier on your tummy!

My #1 choice: Garden of Life Liquid Multivitamin--You can get it at Amazon.com for $31.59 it clearly states that it is 100% RAW Whole Food Vitamins and Minerals—No Isolates or Synthetic Nutrients.
**DISCLAIMER** A few of my readers that posted about this vitamin said that it tasted horrible. Yes, it does. It's ALL natural & still one of the best things for you. The more you take it the easier it gets. The apple cider vinegar is a system shock at first, but is literally one of the best things you can put in your body.  Note that it does not taste very good. Definitely shocking, but you get used to it and just take a little juice before and after, use a tiny glass ( I don't drink, but I recommend a shot glass just for this daily vitamin), try to avoid the tip of your tongue and it's fine. The energy you feel when you use this product can not be matched.
Some tips!
  •  mixed with water or fresh squeezed juice from your juicer.
  • Add it to your smoothie (fresh fruit smoothie)
  • Eat afterwards
  • Just do it. It's not candy, so don't expect for it to taste like candy! :)
  • OR you can find another ALL natural vitamin from Garden of Life. I opted to choose this one because it's the BEST for you. :)
2. Proboitic
You are probably thinking, WHY do I need this apart from my multivitamin?
Ok, I'm going to try to break this down the easiest way--your body has a miniature ecology of microbes--known as the gut flora. This is your HEALTHY bacteria that your body naturally carries. These bacterial types can be grown off by things like use of antibiotics, alcohol, stress, diseases, or even the use of antibacterial soap. What happens then? You get sick because the above is killing off of the good bacteria in your immune system that is keeping you well. So, how can  you get the natural flora that's killed off?.. well, you can't, however PROBIOTCS do form beneficial temporary colonies that helps your body in the same way the natural flora did--while letting your body recover from losing the good bacteria. Here are some benefits of using a probiotic:
  • Managing Lactose Intolerance:
  • Prevention of Colon Cancer
  • Lowering Blood Pressure
  • Improving Immune Function and Preventing Infections:
  • Bacterial Growth under Stress
  • Irritable bowel syndrome and colitis

... so as it helps all of the above, you will see THESE results: Clearer skin, better digestion & you'll get sick alot less because your immune system is built up (less allergies, flu, etc).

My fav: Essential Formulas Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics, Original Formula $37.99 on Amazon.com
3. DIGESTIVE ENZYME
Why is it so important to take a digestive enzyme? If you are like most of the world, you think eating multiple meals throughout the day is good for you. It's so far from the truth--eating multiple times throughout the day will only start your digestive system back up again (putting your body to WORK), thus losing even more precious natural enzymes. Over the years, your body's "reserve" for enzymes gets smaller.. and smaller. Which puts a strain on your skin, makes you look tired and.. you have less energy. ( I didn't want to get too deep into this--so you can look it up for yourself)

Check out an awesome article I found that sums it all up:
Digestive enzymes can be used by people who have certain types of food allergies. This is important because of how many people who have food allergies can become SICK of certain foods are not digested properly. The use of enzymes may help to keep a person healthy and to ensure that the person will not feel sick over time. This is especially important for those who might not be getting certain vitamins and nutrients to work for them due to their allergies.
The next part of digestive enzymes is that they can work for those who have certain types of disorders in their digestive systems. These include people who have Crohn's disease. This comes from how people who use these enzymes can have easier chances with getting their digestive systems to be handled properly. This is critical for those who want to have easier times with getting their digestive systems properly handled.
People who have lower back pains can also take advantage of enzymes. This comes from how these enzymes can involve the body working to relieve tensions in the kidneys and other areas of the digestive tract. This may work to make it easier for a person to eliminate one's bowels over time. This could help to keep a person from suffering from a good deal of problems in the body.
The last part of this comes from how a person can easily use digestive enzymes to treat indigestion. This is due to how a crowded digestive tract can cause a person to end up having a tougher time with digesting foods. The use of enzymes will help to get rid of old deposits in the body that have failed to properly digest. This may work to keep the body healthy and capable of handling its foods in a proper manner.
These are all examples of people who can use these enzymes to their advantage. People can use enzymes if they have certain conditions in their digestive systems or their bowels. They can also use them if they have food allergies or people with being able to digest their foods. It will be critical for anyone to get any of these foods to be properly consumed over an extended period of time in order for the body to be able to feel as well as it should be.

Sooo, with all that being said, here's my favorite digestive enzyme:
Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems - All-Zyme Double Strength on Amazon.com for $18.67

4. BioSil
Ladies (or men!) always want that beautiful, healthy hair with a great complextion. I highly recommend Biosil liquid. You can get it at Whole Foods or on Amazon for $22.99.
  • Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles by 19%
  • Thickens and Strengthens Hair
  • Creates Stronger More Break Resistant Nails
  • essential partner of calcium for bones
  • glucosamine for joints
  • antioxidants for healthier arteries and cardiovascular function
  • Safe – Effective – Natural

Directions: Take 4 drops per day. Mix in 1/4 cup of fluid, (preferably juice that YOU juiced. (yes, get a juicer, it's so much healthier for you), and drink immediately; or drop into an empty hardshell capsule and swallow immediately with liquid.

This is what I do daily!

1. In the morning, take my Proboitic (of course.. right before I drink my (Glowing Green Smoothie)
2. Before Lunch & Dinner take 1 Digestive Enzyme
3. I take my multivitamin at night!
4. Juice an apple and a pear & drop a couple drops into my cup!
***Also, I highly recommend taking a supplement for FISH OIL or FLAX SEED OIL daily. (you need your Omega 3's) However, my multivitamin that my doctor perscribed to me includes DHA or Fish Oil. So find a natural one!

Remember that taking vitamins aids in better health in general. So start NOW! Don't wait until you are 60 or 70 and more susceptible to diseases that tend to affect your health. Our body is a fragile instrument because it is not built to handle excess, whether in the form of nourishment, fuel or additives. Unlike machines, it chokes on poisons when ingested in unending doses and mistaken for fuel. Though it has moving, feeling and thinking parts, they can be misused. God has provided us with an “owner’s manual” that tells us how to operate the human body. That manual is the Bible, a book that contains instructions for proper maintenance. Although it isn’t a medical text, it is God’s Word, and in its pages He reveals many basic principles for good physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Love you all & cheers to a healthy body!

Birthday Selfishness?

Its ya birthday shawtyyy!
Yay!! So my birthday just passed on Sunday, September 18th! What a super busy weekend!! I  learned alot about myself this weekend. Scientifically, my frontal lobes in my brain connect at 30--and I just turned 29 so maybe things are becoming more clear..or, God is just showing me myself, which is always nice & painful.

I think we should definitely celebrate a person's birth--absolutely, but on the flip side your birthday is such a selfish day! I am a very positive person, but I must say--everyone calls you, your facebook friends post a million messages on your wall, everyone tells you it's "your day", you judge the entire day on the gifts you got, how well you were treated, and if you "did it big." If those numbers don't line up in your mind, you will mark that birthday as the "worse." That day is all about YOU. Everyone should do you favors, be nice to you, cook you food, give you gifts--all that good stuff, right?
I'll be honest with you, it kind of bothered me this year. I don't want to dare practice being selfish. I don't want a day where I think everyone should bend over backwards for me. You may think that I'm taking it too far or being "deep"--but I HAD to do something on my birthday for someone else. I couldn't stomach going the whole day being selfish. So I went grocery shopping at an organic market for a woman who had cancer, She mentioned that she needed some Probiotics, so I figured I'd throw in some of my favorite foods. I didn't do it as my "good deed" for the day, I did it because I am so much more happy when my EYES are off of myself on ON someone else. There's nothing like giving & being a blessing to someone else who  needs it. I'm really working on some stuff & I just cannot afford to allow selfishness to creep in--even for ONE day.
Is it wrong to get gifts and celebrate? No! It's not wrong, but make it your business to do something for someone else on  your birthday or for any other day for that matter. No expectations will put you in a position of gratefulness IF someone does something beautiful for you. Your day & mood cannot be determined by if people do things or not. It is what it is.

So onto my birthday, we kept it super low key. I've been wanting this Cannon EOS Rebel XS for awhile, so my hubby hooked me up! I love taking pictures. They capture beautiful moments in time.

Out shopping!

Got that Jesus joy'

Then, later on that night, my hubby took me to a yummy steakhouse with the Lums, one of our favorite couples. It was beautiful.

This post isn't about your birthday. It's about selfishness in general. Go FIND someone else and be a blessing to them. Whatever you focus on in LIFE will amplify. So if life is rough for you, find someone who has it worse and do something for them.
Let's check out some fun ways to bless people:

1. Random acts of kindness: At a drive through--pay for the car's meal behind you. Tell the cashier to tell that car that God loves them & promises to never leave them. Or, have a business card with scriptures on it and give it the cashier for the car behind you.
2. New yorkers: Give your seat up for a woman who looks tired on the train
3. Go through your closet and give some of your clothes to someone you KNOW needs them or a local thrift store.
4. If someone is struggling financially, and God puts it on your heart to give to them.. DO it. Stop going back & forth in your mind.
5. Help a friend clean up their house
6. Babysit for a overworked mom & dad or a single parent .. for FREE
7. Offer your gift or talent to someone for FREE
8. Pray for someone daily
9. If you are struggling in a certain area, find someone who is struggling in the same area & be accountable to each other. I.E. Overspending, clubbing, sex, etc
10. Start with your OWN family. How are you gonna help the world but you haven't helped those right in front of you?

Some great scriptures to meditate on concerning selfishness. When I struggle in a certain area--I fight back, I dont' sit & entertain dumb stuff. So, I meditate on scriptures, listen to sermons, spend time with God & I run that garbage off.. (well, I dont' run it off, God does lol) Remember that you are in partnership with God. We both have a part to play, don't wish you weren't selfish & continue to make life all about YOU.

1 Corinthians 13:4-6
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
Galatians 5:19-21

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

                                                                James 3:16-17
For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere

Remember to ALWAYS do what you do OUT of your love for GOD, not to get Him to "love you"--because He already does & you cannot earn it if you tried.

Love Always,
Heather

Beauty: A Banana Mask!!

Ok, so I'm a stickler for beauty tips & ways to increase your NATURAL beauty. I came across an article years ago in a Health & Beauty Magazine and I swear by it!! Bananas are one of the most nourishing fruits available because they contain large quantities of magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, iodine, and vitamins A, B (folic acid), E, and F.
So yes, I'm telling you to put a banana on your face!! Imagine all of those nutrients penetrating your SKIN! It leaves you with a BEAUTIFUL glow!
There's two ways to do it--one way is to simply just mash up a banana and put it on your face--leave it on for 30 minutes & rise off.
OR
Here it is teamed with heavy cream (traditionally used to prevent wrinkles) and organic honey in a recipe crammed full of nutrients.
INGREDIENTS
1 small banana
2 tablespoons fresh heavy cream
1 tablespoon organic honey
1 tablespoon oat flour
Bottled or spring water

Mash the banana, using the back of a fork, and then add cream, honey, and flour. Stir to mix well. You may need to add a little more cream or flour to obtain the consistency of thick cream of yogurt. Apply mask to the clean face, including the area around the eyes and the neck, and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse off with bottled or spring water and cotton pads, and dab on a little rose hydrosol, allowing to dry naturally.
Effect: nourishes
Skin types: dry, aging
Frequency of use: 3 times a week
Shelf life: 6 hours in refrigerator
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Treatment time: 30 minutes

(Me & my husband after we did a banana mask! Don't tell him that I told you! :-) I sort of force him to do the masks with me! I'll spare you the pictures!)

Here are some GREAT benefits of a Banana Mask!

Moisturizing
  • Banana face masks moisturize dry skin and leave it softer with hydrating action.
Exfoliation
  • Banana face masks help exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells and leaving you with a fresh new look. Food acid contained in the fruit helps the dead skin come off.

Anti-Acne Action

  • Banana face masks help hydrate oily skin, thus combating acne and shielding the skin from loss of moisture.

Anti-Aging

  • Banana face masks provide anti-aging benefits, keeping the skin young and fresh looking.

Sun Burn Aid

  • Banana face masks will provide relief and aid for sun burnt skin. The flesh of the banana is full of antioxidants which have soothing properties.
Yes, your skin is your bodies LARGEST organ, so I do believe it is important that we take care of our bodies. I also believe that more important than ANY facial, mask, new purse, clothes or car.. is the intimate time that we spend with Jesus. Make a point to spend time with God daily. Yeah, it's great to improve your appearance, but "you should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God." (1 Peter 3:4). This banana mask should only IMPROVE the glow that naturally comes out of you from spending time with God. If you are ugly inside, no mask will correct that.

Love Always,
Heather

Lord, I'm Broken

Soo, in the past two months, my father passed away, my 23 year old nephew committed suicide and a good friend who was 29 died of a brain aneurysm. Then, I lost a lot of relationships that I used to have--I've learned that when you step out & do what God is telling you to do, 50% of the people won't agree with you. They will think you are crazy & that you lost your mind. I've learned that people don't like change much. But WHO cares? You obey GOD. I don't care who disagrees with you. What a season of a separation!! Talk about broken!!! I learned what was really important, life wasn't about all the stupid things I thought it was about. I learned that our days our numbered on this earth--so you better make the right decision while you are in this physical body. I learned that everyone cannot go with you where you are going. In Genesis, God to Abraham.. GET away from those people that frame your mindset, get away from that family & go to a place where I will show you." I'm pretty sure Abraham got some heat for that one. As all of this is going on, I'm getting weary, tired, drained & I'm still grieving. Then..

The Lord told me to GET UP--He said "Heather, you have got to press forward & do all the things I told you to do, don't let your situation or an excuse be the reason you stop growing!!! It reminds me of John 5--Jesus saw a man who was lame with a disease for 38 years, laying by the pool of Bethesda. He went to the man and said "Do you want to be well?" He cried out the the Lord, telling Jesus that every time he tried to get into the pool, someone went ahead of him and got their "healing". Jesus didn't sit and join the man's pity party, He told him to GET UP and later on in that chapter He told him to "stop sinning before something worse happens to you." I believe there was a couple weeks in there where I was RESISTING GOD. I was so tired, so drained from ministry, life, and all of these things happening, I didn't have a motivation to do anything! I believe that I was in the beginning stages of Depression. Whatever you focus on, will amplify. I was so wrapped up & focused on ME. I'm humbled and grateful that God took my broken pieces and sat me on top of solid ground and put a new song in my mouth..(psalms 40:3).

Now, I have a BRAND new outlook on life. I really believe that going through that season was a season of FIRE. My faith was tested on levels I didn't know EXISTED. I'm amazed that each & every day while I was going through things, I still had my hope placed in Him as the Holy Spirit whispered to me that "I am not alone, I'm always with you, I'll never leave or forsake you."...

I want to challenge you to GET UP from whatever situation happen in your life! Don't dwell on it, ponder it, focus on it!! Go FIND someone who is broken and help them. God loves you like crazy & has an awesome plan for your life. Let Him refresh you. Remember that everyone can't rock with you. BUT still LOVE, forgive them & MOVE on. .."They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us... 1 John 2:19"

God is beyond faithful. His presence IS my abundance.
Love,
Heather

My Green Smoothie!!!

What the HECK are you drinking?!

(singing) The best part of waking up, is a  Green Smoothie in my cup!
People look at me crazy when I drink my Green Smoothie!!! They ask "what the heck is that?!" Is it good?! Yes it is!! It's extremely yummy but more than anything, it's so healthy for you!
 Here's the ingredients:
A handful of organic spinach
1 Fuji apple
1 Asian Pear (both peeled & cored)
1/2 cup of ice
1 Banana
1 half of a avocado
3 Stalks of celery
1 cup of cold filtered water
1/2 of the juice of a fresh lemon
Fun tip: Be sure to cut the fruit & veggies up SUPER small and blend low to high! If not, it will be a weird texture!
Yes, I even got my "southern" husband to drink these daily!! :)

Ok, you are probably asking WHY do I need to drink this thing & skip breakfast? Yes, I said skip breakfast. Your food is STILL trying to digest from yesterday and then you wake up and eat this huge breakfast that slows down your digestion system even more! By blending all of these fruits and veggies, you "predigest" them, so your body doesn't need to work as hard to break down the food & waste precious energy & enzymes. By blending these fruits you STILL get all of the Fiber (vs. juicing) and this helps strengthen your bowel movements.  So, by drinking this smoothie, you will have MORE energy, you'll still feel full (until at least noon) And if you aren't--you can always eat some fresh fruit, and you are preparing your body to easily digest the REST of your food so you won't be sitting at your desk sluggish by 1pm! I noticed a difference in my skin, I wasn't as "bloaty" after I ate and I am toning in those "hard to reach areas"

So WHY do I love eating healthy & studying my body?! Well, my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20) and I want to honor God with my body. I aint honoring Him if I go to McDonald's everyday. I won't have ANY energy, I won't be able to focus because my body is trying so hard to break down all this garbage. I sure won't have energy to get up and read my bible as I stuff my face with eggs & bacon every morning. I want to go back to sleep! Your BODY is not your own, it belongs to Christ so treat it well, work out, eat healthy, take care of your body so you aren't all sick and tired at 35. If you are sick due to your weight or eating unhealthy it is a DISTRACTION. When something becomes the major focus of life and it isn’t God, it is sin. So to constantly obsess about exercise, diet, and weight loss means we’ve allowed our bodies to become the center of our lives. If you are struggling in this area, ask God for wisdom (James 1:4), Join a weight loss group, talk to a friend about it! I am praying for you! Let's all get healthy together!
Yay for healthy eating!! Whoo hooo!
