Easy Fun Health Tips!

Sooo, if you know me-- I'm a little stalker when it comes to health. I LOVE eating healthy!! I wasn't always this way though. I grew up a sorta-vegetarian because my mother was but my father was a meat eater so I had meat every now and then. I'm naturally pretty slim and I ran track and cross country my whole life.. then I left Michigan and moved to New York. New York City has the best food! So I added about 15 pounds within the first couple years. In 2005, I decided to go an entire month with no breads, sugars, white foods, soda, fast food, ONLY water, no fried foods & no dairy.

I lost about 15 pounds! I was shocked! Not only that-- my taste buds changed. I hated fast food or anything unhealthy. My journey began towards eating better and being more conscious about what I ate. Mind you, if you want to eat healthy-- and you start cutting food out of your diet- your BODY will crave it. It will get mad at you. Seriously. Our bodies are so spoiled sometimes. You pretty much have to tell your body to shut up & do what you have to do. I wanted to share the tips that I've learned to push you towards eating better. It's GREAT to have a super cool relationship with Jesus-- that's our priority. But within that, He will start convicting & showing you what foods you shouldn't eat. FOOD is linked to so many diseases and aging QUICKLY. God of course is our Healer, but stop stuffing your face with butter and sugar for 30 years and then look up and ask Him "why me, Lord" at 50 and wonder why you're sick with clogged arteries. There's things that I'm AVOIDING in the future due to my healthy eating habits and I feel better, have more energy, I age slower, I am happier AND I get to spread the love to my hubby and one-day children. I've introduced my hubby to vitamins, a ton  of different alternatives to food. He's a southern man so he's used to fried everything! I won't have that in my household! :) ".. with LONG life does God satisfy us and show us His salvation" - Psalms 91:16. WE have a part to play. YOU are responsible for what you eat. Period.

Also, I'm not a nutritionist. That's not what God called me to do-- but I've taken YEARS and studied this stuff. I don't know it all--but I know what works for me. I encourage you to do the same!

Lets get started!
1. I LOVEEEEEEE my green smoothie! There's a ton of "green smoothie" books and menus out there. I swear by the one that I experimented & put together. Gives me a ton of energy. I also swear by Kimberly Synders' "Beauty Detox Solution" book. It's filled with knowledge on eating better. I don't agree with her lack of relationship with Christ-- but I do agree with her points about eating healthy--she knows her stuff. I blogged about how to make my green smoothie here. I drink it every morning and it gives me a ton of energy! So YES, swamp this for your daily coffee. :) Google.. "why is coffee so horrible for me"--and you'll see why!

2. You have got to take your vitamins. I also blogged about them here-- they are my favorites!

3. Skip out on the table salt! It's horrible for you! Salt makes your body hold on to water. If you eat too much salt, the extra water stored in your body raises your blood pressure. So, the more salt you eat, the higher your blood pressure. The higher your blood pressure, the greater the strain on your heart, arteries, kidneys and brain. This can lead to heart attacks, strokes, dementia and kidney disease. So drop your Lawry's salt and pick up Himalayan Salt or Celtic Salt. They are my favs! I found it at Fresh Market & Whole Foods!

4. NO MORE FAST FOOD! Fast food is very tempting to people because of its convenience. It’s so easy to swing through the drive thru on your way home from work, starving, and order a super size extra value meal for yourself, spouse, and kids. The food is fairly cheap and you usually won’t spend more than five minutes in line. But guess what..fast food companies are profiting off of clogging your arteries resulting in heart disease!! The food lacks in nutrition to the point where your body cannot even identify with it and it's so packed with the high sugar & fat content. Another problem with the foods you are served at fast food restaurants is that these foods are not nutritious. The foods that you are served at fast food restaurants are high in fat and high in sugar. So every time you go through the fast food line, remember that you're basically poisoning your body. There are even some studies that have shown fast food may be addictive. The high levels of salt and sugar content found in most fast food items cause the brain to seek them out. It's packed with hormones (thus, why our kids our developing at 9) and it slows down brain function. So RUN from fast food. Pinky Promise.

5. Skip the soy sauce-- pick up Braggs Liquid Amino Acid! Its great to season fish, a salad, rice or anything that you want to taste "salty." Amino acids are important for your health! Your body requires them for proper functioning! There are 20 standard amino acids that are required by our body - 12 of these are non-essential and 8 are essential. I'm not going to get super technical ( I really do love this stuff & I don't want to bore you) but you can find amino acids in meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products, and some plants, or through liquid amino acid supplements. I don't eat meat & don't recommend it as it's hard for your body to digest & ages you, but-- do what you do! :)) The Liquid Amino Acid not only tastes yummy on my baked veggies, but it boosts my energy & attention, builds protein inside my body and lowers blood pressure!

6. RUN from soda. RUN! They are packed with SUGAR (even the diet ones) and they raise your blood sugar levels to dangerous highs when you drink it! Plus, if you're trying to shed weight in that belly area.. the blood sugar levels has a side effect that causes your body to store the excess sugar as fat..in cells located in your belly. So stop doing 50 abs everyday if you're going to keep drinking soda!

7. Have a sweet tooth? My favorites are juicing an apple, pear, carrots and celery! It takes care of my sweet tooth right away or I'll eat a sweet apple, like a Fuji apple! I love the Juice man juicer at Target! It's like $70 and works like a dream. Stop running for the chocolate folks. You will CRAVE what you give your body.

8. Skip the farm raised salmon and opt for the wild salmon! Farm raised salmon has a ton of pesticides and many more toxins (PCBs, dioxin, etc.) than wild salmon. The study recommends that farm raised salmon should be eaten once every two months as they pose cancer risks to the human beings. Yeah, it cost a little bit more, but cancer treatments costs alot more. Jus sayin'.

9. Don't MISCOMBINE foods! Wonder why you're SOO sleepy after you eat that huge meal at your mama's house on Sunday afternoon? This is the issue-- your body only has so many precious enzymes that are used to help break down your food and get the most energy & nutrition. Different enzymes are used to digest different types of food. They interfere with each other if they're released at the same time. So, what happens? The undigested food basically ferments in  your body.. causing weight gain, constipation, gas, heartburn, bloating and other symptoms! So how do you know if you're miscombining? Don't eat a starch with a animal protein. Yes, so no mashed potatoes and steak anymore. Eat your steak with a salad on some veggies. If you're going to eat spaghetti, don't eat it with meat.. eat it with veggies. It's TAKING your body too long to digest both. Don't eat the bread that comes to the table at a restaurant if you are planning on eating meat for your meal. A book I love on Miscombining foods: Proper Food Combining Works: A Living Testimony by Lee DuBelle.

10. Don't drink water during your meals. It waters down those enzymes we talked about above and it makes your body do extra work to digest your food. Drink water 30 minutes before your meal and 20 minutes after. If you want to help wash it down.. sip, dont' gulp water. And NO SODA OR grocery store bought juices. They are packed with sugars.

11. Drink warm lemon water every morning. This aids in digestion and helps detox your body! There's SO many benefits from drinking warm (not hot) lemon water first thing in the morning. I encourage you to do your research.

12. Eat a salad before a meal & don't pour dressing all over it. Squeeze some fresh lemon and a little bit of your Celtic salt. It does WONDERS in seasoning it. Eating a salad FILLS you up before your actual meal and you won't eat as much. I also love raw sauerkraut! Get it from your local food store or co-op! Our natural food store makes it themselves! Raw Sauerkraut is a wonderful proboitic and it builds your immune system!

13. CHEW SLOWLY. If you stuff your face, you'll eat more. Try to chew at least 20 times before swallowing-- you'll get fuller quicker.

14. WORK OUT.  Granted, you can lose crazy weight eating healthy but I highly recommend finding a workout program that works for YOU. Whether it be P90x, Insanity, Zumba, running, or whatever the case! Find someone who will work out with you and keep each other accountable!

15. No more emotional eating. Having a rough day &  you grab some Doritos?! Instead, don't even BUY certain foods anymore. If they aren't in the house-- you won't crave them! I refuse to buy ice cream and sweets. I keep nuts, avocado and popcorn around to snack on! GET to the root of those emotions and stop running to food every time you have a moment-- run to Christ instead.

16. (Bonus number)-- NO CANNED ANYTHING. Especially meat! That animal was killed about a year ago, then processed and put in a can. Let's all be clear. Buy some meat from Whole foods-- put it in the fridge for a week and don’t eat it. It stinks right? Now, imagine ALL of the non-nutritional processed ingredients they are putting in the can to keep your meat so you can eat it. Meat is supposed to be refrigerated. RUN from canned anything and be sure to shop in the outside aisles-- not frozen sections or middle aisles! This also goes for frozen dinners. RUN from them. YOU must make time for your health & eating better. Plan ahead. Do what you  have to do.

So these are just some fun tips to get started. Don't make the excuse that you don't know how to cook when there's a TON of recipes online. You won't learn to cook healthy until you START. YOU have to start somewhere! Don't let another year go by eating the same! Change it now! Stop running to the tums or the heartburn medicine & get to the root of it! God will help you & grace you once you finally decide to stop reaching for the soda and pizza. STOP praying the weight away & start doing something about it. Let's all get together & do better. Starting.... now!

God loves you like crazy,

Heather Lindsey

Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese--Vegan Style!

                 **Meat-Eating Husband approved, Vegan Approved**

Sooo, since I went Vegan, I've been on a SEARCH for new recipes that are healthy, fulfilling & enjoyable for both me and my meat eating husband! I believe that it's so important to EAT healthy. You can do all of the crunches you want to get a six pack, but if you are eating fast food and other horrible meals, you'll never see it. More than anything, when you EAT, you aren't supposed to be heavy, tired & drained. When you eat, you are supposed to have more energy and the food is supposed to be used as fuel. As a wife, I believe that is my responsiblity to feed my husband and one day family healthy food that will fuel them to FULFILL the will of God for their life. Eating healthy can improve your memory, you'll have better moods, be more aware, feel better, and you'll have more energy.
So you can take all of that & serve people better, love harder and be an EXAMPLE to them. Having a rough time getting up in the morning to pray? We all do. The food you eat the night before will determine your mood that next day. So if you are constantly "feeling" sluggish, you won't want to get up in pray or do anything else..as you complain about traffic on your way to work. Of course you can do your confessions, stay "positive" while you eat your Big Mac but I'm pretty sure that as you bow your head to bless that burger, the Holy Spirit will gently remind you that He wants you to eat something better :) Not to beat you down, but to get you to go higher.

Ok, so, I always try recipes & make them my own. So enjoy.

The first thing you do is peel and chop half of a Butternut Squash. Place it into a bowl and add a teaspoon of coconut oil & celtic salt!

Roast in the oven for 40 minutes at 400F, flipping once half way through baking. You can do this ahead of time if preferred.

While the squash is roasting, make your pretend ‘cheese sauce’ in the food processor. I actually have used cashews, lime juice, honey and unrefinded cococnut oil  to make key lime bars, so it's pretty cool to take it in another direction and make cheese with chashews!
Now, add the roasted squash into the cheese sauce and process until smooth. It makes about 3.5 cups of sauce.
Cook your desired pasta. I used a full bag (~450 grams or 4.5 cups dry pasta) of Glutton Free Brown Rice Penne for the casserole option.
Drain the pasta and add in the cheese sauce. Depending on how much sauce you want, you might not use it all. I also added some broccoli and you can get creative with any kinds of mix-ins you want.  You can also add a bit of non-dairy milk if the sauce thickens up too much.
At this point you can enjoy your pasta a couple ways:
1) Heat the mixture in the pot and serve immediately.
2) Pour the mixture into a casserole dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes.
If baking in the oven, add on your breadcrumbs.
After, 20-25 minutes you have a fun B’nut Squash Mac ‘n Cheese that will serve 3-4 people for a main course.
                                          Buttery squashy deliciousness!

Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese! (with your own special cheese!)

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 butternut squash, peeled and chopped (yields: 3.5 cups raw)
  • 3/4 cup raw cashews
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk (I used unsweetened almond milk), or more to thin out
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp celtic salt, or to taste
  • 6-7 tbsp Nutritional yeast (provides the cheesy consistency) **get this from a all natural organic store, not krogers.
  • 1/2 tsp honey dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp or a bit more of dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp Tumeric powder, optional (gives the orangey colour)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp Paprika + more to season
  • Your pasta of choice (I used ~450 grams/4.5 cups dry penne for the casserole) + mix-ins *I try to stay away from alot of brown rices, I try to go glutton free whenever I can*
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400F and line a baking sheet. In a bowl, season chopped squash with some coconut oil (~1 tsp) and celtic salt (couple pinches) and stir. Add to baking sheet and roast in oven for 40 minutes, flipping once half way through baking.
2. If making the baked casserole: Process 1 slice of millet bread + 1 tbsp Earth balance until crumbs form in a food processor. Set aside. If you plan on enjoying it straight from the pot you can skip this step.
3. Assemble your cheese sauce ingredients (cashews, non-dairy milk, garlic, lemon, salt, nutritional yeast, pepper, mustard, seasonings) and add just the cashews to food processor. Process until a fine crumb forms similar to corn meal. Now add in the rest of the cheese sauce ingredients and process until smooth. Leave the sauce in the processor as you will be adding the squash.
4. Cook your pasta according to package directions. When squash is finished roasting, add it to the food processor and blend it with the cheese sauce until smooth. Adjust to taste. The sauce will thicken up with time. If at any point the sauce becomes too thick, you can add a bit of milk to thin it out.
5. Drain and rinse pasta with cold water. Now add the pasta back into the same pot and add your desired amount of cheese sauce on top. Stir well. Add in any desired mix-ins like peas or broccoli. You can either heat this up in the pot, or pour it into a casserole dish (I used a 4 cup dish), sprinkle on breadcrumbs + paprika, and bake it at 350 for about 20-25 minutes. The casserole will serve about 4 people if you use 450 grams dry macaroni or penne. Store any leftover sauce in the fridge and use within a few days.

Enjoy!!

Love,
Heather

My FAVORITE Vitamins!

Overwhelmed by what Vitamins to take?! We ALL are!! I've tried.. almost ALL of them over the years and I've come up with a few of my favorites!!

I may be a stalker when it comes to vitamins! When I first met with my doctor, I pulled out a bag of 10 different vitamins I take daily--and he gave me a prescription for a multivitamin--stating that I'm doing wayy to much & all of my B vitamin intake can be harmful to my liver over time. However, I am pretty obsessed when it comes to making sure my body has everything it needs + I want my hair to GROW! lol
(before you read this, make sure you check with your doctor, nutritionist, or whoever else to MAKE sure that you are getting everything you need. I am NOT an "expert" but I am someone who spends their free time studying this lol) This is for the basic, healthy 29 year old.
Soo, let's check out some of my fav's:

1. Multivitamin
Yes, you need one but not just any "vitamins". Make it your business to take one daily. But take a NATURAL vitamin, NOT a synthetic. I once heard that it's better to starve yourself then take a commercial synthetic vitamin.
Here's some facts!
  • The majority of commercial vitamin supplements are made up of synthetic vitamins
  • Synthetic vitamins do not perform the same functions in your body as vitamins found naturally in whole food
  • Many synthetic vitamins deplete your body of other nutrients and tax your kidneys before being excreted through your urine

How do you know if the vitamins on your kitchen counter are from whole foods or if they are synthetic?
If the list of ingredients includes an actual vitamin like Vitamin C” rather than an actual food that contains natural vitamin C like “acerola cherry powder”, you can bet that it is a synthetic vitamin. A good example of "junk" nutritional supplements is B vitamins. Most people do not know that most B vitamins are made from petrochemicals! For your best health, take a whole-nutrient B vitamin and avoid synthetics. Synthetics will be listed on the label as follows: Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B2 (riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (niacin), Vitamin B5 (calcium pantothenate).

Are all synthetic vitamins and minerals bad?
YES! There are many negative health impacts from synthetic ingredients in vitamins & supplments. To make this easier-- the human body has evolved for MILLIONS of years to digest foods found in nature (plants, fruits). Most of the commercial synthetic produced vitamins are CHEMICAL compounds that can't be found in nature. Your body doesn't recognnize those fake ingredients and your body knows the difference between real & fake & always perfers the real thing!

So when you are on a search for a great multivitamin, MAKE sure you ask if the product is synthetic of not. Remember, synthetic is pretty much a "fake" vitamin. Pharmacies, vitamin stores, etc have to make their money somehow. So, go to all natural store like Whole Foods or something along those lines. Be sure to have your list of questions. YES, you are going to spend more, but you would spend the same amount on dinner, some shirt or something else. Take great care of your body.
**Also, I recommend that you take it at night before you go to sleep! Usually, it's easier on your tummy!

My #1 choice: Garden of Life Liquid Multivitamin--You can get it at Amazon.com for $31.59 it clearly states that it is 100% RAW Whole Food Vitamins and Minerals—No Isolates or Synthetic Nutrients.
**DISCLAIMER** A few of my readers that posted about this vitamin said that it tasted horrible. Yes, it does. It's ALL natural & still one of the best things for you. The more you take it the easier it gets. The apple cider vinegar is a system shock at first, but is literally one of the best things you can put in your body.  Note that it does not taste very good. Definitely shocking, but you get used to it and just take a little juice before and after, use a tiny glass ( I don't drink, but I recommend a shot glass just for this daily vitamin), try to avoid the tip of your tongue and it's fine. The energy you feel when you use this product can not be matched.
Some tips!
  •  mixed with water or fresh squeezed juice from your juicer.
  • Add it to your smoothie (fresh fruit smoothie)
  • Eat afterwards
  • Just do it. It's not candy, so don't expect for it to taste like candy! :)
  • OR you can find another ALL natural vitamin from Garden of Life. I opted to choose this one because it's the BEST for you. :)
2. Proboitic
You are probably thinking, WHY do I need this apart from my multivitamin?
Ok, I'm going to try to break this down the easiest way--your body has a miniature ecology of microbes--known as the gut flora. This is your HEALTHY bacteria that your body naturally carries. These bacterial types can be grown off by things like use of antibiotics, alcohol, stress, diseases, or even the use of antibacterial soap. What happens then? You get sick because the above is killing off of the good bacteria in your immune system that is keeping you well. So, how can  you get the natural flora that's killed off?.. well, you can't, however PROBIOTCS do form beneficial temporary colonies that helps your body in the same way the natural flora did--while letting your body recover from losing the good bacteria. Here are some benefits of using a probiotic:
  • Managing Lactose Intolerance:
  • Prevention of Colon Cancer
  • Lowering Blood Pressure
  • Improving Immune Function and Preventing Infections:
  • Bacterial Growth under Stress
  • Irritable bowel syndrome and colitis

... so as it helps all of the above, you will see THESE results: Clearer skin, better digestion & you'll get sick alot less because your immune system is built up (less allergies, flu, etc).

My fav: Essential Formulas Dr. Ohhira's Probiotics, Original Formula $37.99 on Amazon.com
3. DIGESTIVE ENZYME
Why is it so important to take a digestive enzyme? If you are like most of the world, you think eating multiple meals throughout the day is good for you. It's so far from the truth--eating multiple times throughout the day will only start your digestive system back up again (putting your body to WORK), thus losing even more precious natural enzymes. Over the years, your body's "reserve" for enzymes gets smaller.. and smaller. Which puts a strain on your skin, makes you look tired and.. you have less energy. ( I didn't want to get too deep into this--so you can look it up for yourself)

Check out an awesome article I found that sums it all up:
Digestive enzymes can be used by people who have certain types of food allergies. This is important because of how many people who have food allergies can become SICK of certain foods are not digested properly. The use of enzymes may help to keep a person healthy and to ensure that the person will not feel sick over time. This is especially important for those who might not be getting certain vitamins and nutrients to work for them due to their allergies.
The next part of digestive enzymes is that they can work for those who have certain types of disorders in their digestive systems. These include people who have Crohn's disease. This comes from how people who use these enzymes can have easier chances with getting their digestive systems to be handled properly. This is critical for those who want to have easier times with getting their digestive systems properly handled.
People who have lower back pains can also take advantage of enzymes. This comes from how these enzymes can involve the body working to relieve tensions in the kidneys and other areas of the digestive tract. This may work to make it easier for a person to eliminate one's bowels over time. This could help to keep a person from suffering from a good deal of problems in the body.
The last part of this comes from how a person can easily use digestive enzymes to treat indigestion. This is due to how a crowded digestive tract can cause a person to end up having a tougher time with digesting foods. The use of enzymes will help to get rid of old deposits in the body that have failed to properly digest. This may work to keep the body healthy and capable of handling its foods in a proper manner.
These are all examples of people who can use these enzymes to their advantage. People can use enzymes if they have certain conditions in their digestive systems or their bowels. They can also use them if they have food allergies or people with being able to digest their foods. It will be critical for anyone to get any of these foods to be properly consumed over an extended period of time in order for the body to be able to feel as well as it should be.

Sooo, with all that being said, here's my favorite digestive enzyme:
Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems - All-Zyme Double Strength on Amazon.com for $18.67

4. BioSil
Ladies (or men!) always want that beautiful, healthy hair with a great complextion. I highly recommend Biosil liquid. You can get it at Whole Foods or on Amazon for $22.99.
  • Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles by 19%
  • Thickens and Strengthens Hair
  • Creates Stronger More Break Resistant Nails
  • essential partner of calcium for bones
  • glucosamine for joints
  • antioxidants for healthier arteries and cardiovascular function
  • Safe – Effective – Natural

Directions: Take 4 drops per day. Mix in 1/4 cup of fluid, (preferably juice that YOU juiced. (yes, get a juicer, it's so much healthier for you), and drink immediately; or drop into an empty hardshell capsule and swallow immediately with liquid.

This is what I do daily!

1. In the morning, take my Proboitic (of course.. right before I drink my (Glowing Green Smoothie)
2. Before Lunch & Dinner take 1 Digestive Enzyme
3. I take my multivitamin at night!
4. Juice an apple and a pear & drop a couple drops into my cup!
***Also, I highly recommend taking a supplement for FISH OIL or FLAX SEED OIL daily. (you need your Omega 3's) However, my multivitamin that my doctor perscribed to me includes DHA or Fish Oil. So find a natural one!

Remember that taking vitamins aids in better health in general. So start NOW! Don't wait until you are 60 or 70 and more susceptible to diseases that tend to affect your health. Our body is a fragile instrument because it is not built to handle excess, whether in the form of nourishment, fuel or additives. Unlike machines, it chokes on poisons when ingested in unending doses and mistaken for fuel. Though it has moving, feeling and thinking parts, they can be misused. God has provided us with an “owner’s manual” that tells us how to operate the human body. That manual is the Bible, a book that contains instructions for proper maintenance. Although it isn’t a medical text, it is God’s Word, and in its pages He reveals many basic principles for good physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Love you all & cheers to a healthy body!

My Green Smoothie!!!

What the HECK are you drinking?!

(singing) The best part of waking up, is a  Green Smoothie in my cup!
People look at me crazy when I drink my Green Smoothie!!! They ask "what the heck is that?!" Is it good?! Yes it is!! It's extremely yummy but more than anything, it's so healthy for you!
 Here's the ingredients:
A handful of organic spinach
1 Fuji apple
1 Asian Pear (both peeled & cored)
1/2 cup of ice
1 Banana
1 half of a avocado
3 Stalks of celery
1 cup of cold filtered water
1/2 of the juice of a fresh lemon
Fun tip: Be sure to cut the fruit & veggies up SUPER small and blend low to high! If not, it will be a weird texture!
Yes, I even got my "southern" husband to drink these daily!! :)

Ok, you are probably asking WHY do I need to drink this thing & skip breakfast? Yes, I said skip breakfast. Your food is STILL trying to digest from yesterday and then you wake up and eat this huge breakfast that slows down your digestion system even more! By blending all of these fruits and veggies, you "predigest" them, so your body doesn't need to work as hard to break down the food & waste precious energy & enzymes. By blending these fruits you STILL get all of the Fiber (vs. juicing) and this helps strengthen your bowel movements.  So, by drinking this smoothie, you will have MORE energy, you'll still feel full (until at least noon) And if you aren't--you can always eat some fresh fruit, and you are preparing your body to easily digest the REST of your food so you won't be sitting at your desk sluggish by 1pm! I noticed a difference in my skin, I wasn't as "bloaty" after I ate and I am toning in those "hard to reach areas"

So WHY do I love eating healthy & studying my body?! Well, my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20) and I want to honor God with my body. I aint honoring Him if I go to McDonald's everyday. I won't have ANY energy, I won't be able to focus because my body is trying so hard to break down all this garbage. I sure won't have energy to get up and read my bible as I stuff my face with eggs & bacon every morning. I want to go back to sleep! Your BODY is not your own, it belongs to Christ so treat it well, work out, eat healthy, take care of your body so you aren't all sick and tired at 35. If you are sick due to your weight or eating unhealthy it is a DISTRACTION. When something becomes the major focus of life and it isn’t God, it is sin. So to constantly obsess about exercise, diet, and weight loss means we’ve allowed our bodies to become the center of our lives. If you are struggling in this area, ask God for wisdom (James 1:4), Join a weight loss group, talk to a friend about it! I am praying for you! Let's all get healthy together!
Yay for healthy eating!! Whoo hooo!
